The 1.5 kilometre road connecting Likoni Road to Easton flats near Makadara Railways is already deteriorating, barely a month after its completion.
Mbotela residents say the road, which has no drainage, has been directing rain water right into their houses and destroying their property.
A sign post on the road indicates that it is Njiwa Road, which is not the previous name, Ngiri Road.
“For unknown reasons, the name of the road was changed from Ngiri to Njiwa, but it appears the signpost is not the official one from City County,” said businessman Samuel Kimathi who has been operating along the road for six years.
Other residents have decried the absence of bumps and signposts, saying this has turned the road into a competition ground for boda boda operators which puts their lives in danger.
Asked about the issue, Makongeni MCA Peter Imwatok told The Nairobian that, “The names could have been altered. I may not know because I was not born there. But residents should not worry because the road is not yet complete.
