Juja MCA faked his own kidnap-police

Detectives believe Juja MCA Samuel Gitau ‘abducted himself’ and will soon charge him for giving false information to the police.

“The whole story doesn’t add up. This MCA must have kidnapped himself for reasons best known to him. Each time we visit him, he is either reluctant to talk or claims he is sleepy because of medication,” a senior CID officer told The Nairobian.

But what could have prompted him to ‘kidnap’ himself for eight days until his reappearance on a Sunday evening in Naivasha?

According to investigators, Gitau could have been involved with as many as six different women, one of whom  is pregnant while another is 57 years old. Gitau’s mother is 56. The detectives are also investigating whether the ‘self kidnap’ could be as a result of politics or the construction of a 21,000-bed hoste, which will soon be built in Juja by the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.

Our source revealed that when Gitau was at the Agha Kan Hospital in Nairobi, he would pretend to be unable to talk to detectives, yet officers standing guard outside the door could later hear talking jovially with relatives. Detectives also say the Dr Jerusha, Professor Obure and a Chinese investor that Gitau claims to have been in a meeting at Small Villa restaurant in Juja on the evening he was kidnapped do not exist.

But Gitau insists his kidnap linked to the 21,000-bed university hostel in Juja that he was opposed to because it would affect the local business community who have invested in hostels.

He claims the investor wanted him to accept a Sh5 million bribe, an offer he allegedly declined. The MCA claims he escaped from his abductors as the car slowed down in Naivasha where he was saved by onlookers.

But detectives established from those who saved him that a blue Toyota NZE car slowed down, it’s occupants  looked around then a man who was in the boot crawled out before the car speed off.

The detectives now want Gitau to explain how he survived in a car boot for eight days with no water, food and without soiling his cloths.
