A suspect left a city court in stitches after he asked the judge to help him recover his missing teeth from a police officer.
The suspect told the court that an AP officer beat him up during arrest causing him to lose his teeth.
Hussein Njoroge Kamau had been charged with preparing to commit a felony after he was found with several knives on February 5, in Kamukunji. Njoroge however, told the court that he sells knives.
The prosecution said the suspect was walking toward the city centre when he was nabbed by police officers on patrol. Upon search, the officers allegedly found knives tucked around his waist.
Kamau denied the charges and instead accused police of brutally attacking him before stealing Sh4,000 and his mobile phone.
The suspect was released on a cash bail of Sh10,000.
The court directed the investigating officer to present himself before the hearing date on April 24, to shed light on allegations that he beat up the suspect.
