I was a student at Kenyatta University after joining in 2012. I studied Bachelor of Arts - Theatre Arts and Film Technology for four years.
The whole course was fun, and my favorite unit was acting. But I cannot say the same thing about video editing. I have never been a behind the scenes kinda person, and so video editing was not my cup of tea.
Life in campus was fun, frustrating at some point and adventurous. I would hustle at times to make a few coins. I remember I used to do sales and marketing, more of hawking kitchen wear in different places for commission.
On dating, I would say, I never dated in campus. I found relationships being too demanding and needing a lot of work. I was more focused on working on my music and building my brand. I think campus relationships are not for everyone. Some people just want to live life, explore and basically just have fun.
To unwind, mostly during weekends, I used to hang out at the swimming pool with the swim team, or at the students annex or shopping Center. Otherwise I spent time in the studio when not in school.
Some of my unforgettable classmates in campus included Sleepy David, and he is funny.
I am however yet to graduate having differed my classes to focus on my music. Interestingly, I am not planning to go back to study theatre. I want to take a different direction, possibly mass communication and entrepreneurship.
Kenya’s female rapper, Teresia Ndoti famously known as Kush Tracy who is the ‘Huwezi Ni Dandia’ hit maker tells us about her campus years.
