My girlfriend is too lazy, yet she wants marriage
I met my girlfriend six months ago and she moved in with me a month after we met because she lost her job and couldn’t afford rent.
Ever since she moved in, she has made no attempt to find another job and does very little around the house.
I have to push her to do even little things like making me breakfast before I go to work. She spends all her time out with friends shopping.
She is really pushing for us to get married, but I am not sure about this relationship. What do I do? Jack, Nairobi
Dear Jack, You have only known her for six months, but she wants marriage? She doesn’t want to work or do housework?
What a joker! It sounds like she is a gold-digger, desperate for a meal and comfort ticket. She is pushing for marriage because she knows she will be set up for life.
Beast has ruined my life, I’m now seeking revenge
I dated my ex-boyfriend for three years and we have a two year old son together. A month ago, out of the blue, he left me for another woman.
He said he wasn’t happy with me and that he had really fallen for the other woman. I feel so betrayed and hurt.
I gave up so much to be with him and now he just abandons our son and me like we are nothing.
I know I should try and move on, but I have been fantasizing about the different ways I can get back at him for hurting me.
I feel like I should seek revenge for what he has done to me. What should I do? Pauline, Nyali
Dear Pauline, It is normal to have fantasies about ruining the life of the person who has hurt you, but it is pointless.
You will get nothing out of it. Cut your losses and move on. You have a child to think about.
My step children are driving me up the wall, please help!
I am a 23-year-old lady dating a thirty-six-year old single dad of two. We recently started living together and I am having a hard time parenting his kids.
They are aged four and six and they are a handful. They lack discipline and don’t listen to me when I tell them anything.
I feel like my boyfriend spoils them too much and he doesn’t discipline them. We have been having a lot of fights about the kids and I can’t take it anymore. Should I leave? Cate, Bungoma
Dear Cate,
This is what we call mwiba wa kujidunga (self inflicted pain)! When you were giving in, it didn’t occur to you that two kids for a 23-year-old to parent was a handful?
Those are a lot of responsibility and it is okay if you are not ready. You are young and you are at different stages in life with your boyfriend. Walk away.
My boyfriend is the jealous type, how do I change him?
I have been dating my boyfriend for one year. He is a very jealous and possessive man and he gets upset when other guys show interest in me.
He recently went on Facebook and saw that I had commented on another guys photo and became enraged even though it was an innocent comment.
He stopped talking to me and called me a cheater and a prostitute. How do I help him get over his jealousy? Jane, Oyugis
Dear Jane,
Huh, that’s a herculean task. Jealousy is almost in born, you can’t rid him of it. Get out while you can. That man is dangerous.
His jealousy and insecurities can lead him to harming you.
