Angry Murembu man whips rude son-in-law for visiting him unannounced, drunk

Counties

There is a good reason why parents-in-law are given the respect we accord ‘naked’ electricity wires. However, one man from Murembu village in Meru County chose to ignore this truism and visited his in-laws while high as a kite, only to pay for it dearly.

Desperate for courage to face his in-laws, give them a piece of his mind and take back his estranged wife and children, the 32-year-old man, surnamed Riungu, went and got drunk before the all-important visit.

Riungu had differed with his wife, clobbered her up and chased her away, forcing her to move back to her parents’ home. With her absence making his heart grow fonder, Riungu used all the tricks in the book to win her back, but all was in vain.

Riungu’s ex-wife was neither replying to his text messages nor picking his phone call. Following the nasty separation, parents to the woman were very furious and vowed never to allow their daughter to go back to Riungu or give him access to his children.

But despite being declared an unwanted guest, Riungu made the mistake of visiting them announced with the intention of forcefully getting back his wife and children.

What’s more, he not only made the impromptu visit while drunk, but also turned himself into a nuisance, causing annoyance to his in-laws.

“He arrived there humming and singing circumcision songs, bragging that he was a total man and had only visited to collect what was rightfully his, in reference to his wife and children,” revealed a local.

Shouting that, like his father-in-law, he, too, was a man and thus saw no reason to fear him. A drunk Riungu caused chaos, demanding access to his children and a meeting for reconciliation talks.

Unfortunately, his father-in-law was not in the best of moods and expressed his displeasure rather robustly. “While Riungu was chest thumping and forcing himself into the house while calling his ex-wife sweet names, the no-nonsense father-in-law attacked him with kicks and a nyahunyo (a flexible rubber whip),” said the local.

So severe was the beating that Riungu sobered up and began begging for mercy. His endeavours to apologise and have the old man give him a listening ear bore no fruit. He was bundled out of the home unceremoniously with a stern warning never to visit again.

Man clobbers wife for

attacking his mpango wa kando

Locals at Chaka Village, along Nanyuki-Nairobi highway were treated to a free-for-all drama after a married man engaged his wife in a physical fight after she attacked his mpango wa kando (secret lover).

Angry that her husband was having an affair with a barmaid at his pub, the furious wife raided the establishment and went hammer and tongs at the suspect.

While the attack was underway, a worker at the pub called the businessman, who arrived in shortly. “The angry wife was armed with a knife and attempted to stab the barmaid. Luckily, one of the male workers at the pub disarmed her. She wreaked havoc, attacking the maid and hurling beer bottles,” said an eyewitness.

Upon his arriva,l and in a strange turn of events, the businessman sided with the barmaid, protecting her from his wife’s wrath.

“Fact that the businessman defended the barmaid gave credence to the suspicion that she was having an affair with him. The gesture angered the wife who began fighting her husband, only for him to turn tables on her until passersby stopped the fight,” said the witness.
