Talk about flexibility and Lady Tasha can pull all the body movements together. Her performances are often a dramatic array of moves from splits, twists and turns which she admits she learnt at a tender age.
Born and raised in Huruma, Lady Tasha’s was a hard upbringing as she was born to a single mother who often fell ill and a brother who needed medical care for most of the time. Despite all that she conquered adversity when her mother and brother were taken into hospital care while she was checked into a children’s home.
While at the children’s home, they had to work on performances which would help them raise money. It was here that she learnt about the arts, got the chance to attend Eastleigh Airport Primary School for her primary education, then went ahead to St Tito’s girl’s High School.
In 2008, Lady Tasha recorded her first song “Tuwe na Amani” which emphasized on Kenyan peace. With a growing career Tasha met her husband Kanda King who then helped her along with her music. It was after this that she released “Mapenzi Zero Percent”, “Mapenzi ya leo”, “Billionaire”, “Shake it”, “Nitafika”, “Moss Moss”, “Ni noma”, and “Vunja Mifupa”.
Recently she released her new album “Mapenzi” which is a compilation of her music over the years. With such determination, Tasha’s husband is without a doubt a complementary figure careerwise as he is always there to support her whenever she has shows.
Impressively the celebrity couple King Lady Tasha has two sons both who love to dance and perform. When it comes to dancing, this family seems to have all the tricks up their sleeve in regards to all moves. Asked how they keep up with the dancing Tasha said that “once kids sho interest in something, encourage them to be the best they can be.”
With a musical career and dancing skills to back it up, Tasha not only inspires youths, but also fellow celebrities that would love to be astounding dancers.
