Kenyans react to ad of a Sh 50,000 reward for lost cat

Kenyans are still reeling from the newspaper ad from a lady looking for her precious cat.

Offering a cash reward of Sh 50,000 to find her cat Regina, she has been missing since August 12th and is yet to be found.

Desperate to find her, a woman placed an ad which has since gone viral.

‘’Regina was temporarily housed in Utawala when she got out on 12 August, 2018. Regina is friendly, hungry and frightened. Please call her name and offer her food and leave food so she will return. She may head from Utawala back home near Nairobi’s Central Business District,’’ the advert read in part.

Considering very few Kenyans would offer money to find their missing spouses, the much-loved cat has elicited different reactions from Kenyans who can't help but wonder just how much the cat is worth.

As expected, Kenyans on Twitter had opinions, and these are some of the reactions the ad got.

‘’Hiyo imeshakuliwa, mutura,’’ tweeted Eddy Masese.

‘’Kwani how much is that cat,’’ Tonnie Kubokah posed.

‘’My brothers wouldn’t even put up a poster that am lost not at all offer payment for my soul,’’ Kuriah J’s tweet read.

‘’These are used by wachawis wenye wamejaa utawala. There are so many wondering cats in utawala. Prayers need to be done to chase these wachawis,’’ one TCM opined.

It is not clear whether the cat is a special breed, or it simply holds a special place in the lives of the family searching for it.
