K24 news anchor Anjlee Gadhvi left many netizens in a somber mood after sharing an emotional video trying to explain to her 5-year-old daughter why she has to leave the country for two weeks for specialized treatment in India.

In the video, amid tears, her little girl begs her mum to seek treatment at Agha Khan but Gadhvi reassuringly explained why seeking treatment in India was better.

"Aga Khan has those machines but my doctor is in India and he knows how to check my chest better. So far I'm doing better, I don't need oxygen all the time, I don't need to nebulize all the time,” she explained to her daughter.

“I don’t know whether I should be sharing this clip or not. But since cancer is the discussion, I think it’s important to share how I find it hard to explain to my 5-year-old why I have to leave her for 2 weeks to seek specialised treatment out of the country,” she wrote.

Netizens were deeply touched by Gadhvi’s video. Her colleague at K24 Mwanaisha Chidzuga admitted shedding tears after watching the video.

“Watched this and you brought tears to my eyes. You will be ok inshallah and that hug right there that hug keep on giving it to the little ones sometimes maybe that’s all they need to keep going when words don’t make sense. Stay strong never give up no matter what,” Mwanaisha Chidzuga commented on Anjlee’s video.

KTN News anchor, Linda Ogutu, also stood by her saying," I don't even know what to say. It must be very hard for her and that is why you have to fight. All the best with your treatment honey. May you get better and go jump at Two Rivers. You, my dear, are in my prayers,"

Former BBC Africa Business Editor, Larry Madowo, also wished her all the best and applauded her action.

"You’re so brave for sharing this, and for having the courage to battle publicly. I know you’re incredibly strong and will beat cancer. All the best," he posted.

KTN News reporter, Timothy Otieno also commented on the video saying that “You are my hero! More favour and blessings to you! Praying for your quick and full recovery."

Gadhvi was diagnosed with liver cancer in 2013, but went public about it in 2015, after funds raised by family and friends got drained. After she appealed for public help, Kenyans donated over Sh6 million in hours.
