Tanzanian singer Rajab Abdul Kahali aka Harmonize released his album, titled AfroEast early this month.
However, it was pulled down over copyright claims from various platforms, including YouTube, where it had garnered millions of views.
The former WCB signee launched his album on March 14, 2020, but it was immediately rocked with controversy after it turned out that he sampled a number of tracks.
For example, his song titled Unanimaliza was originally done by Mr Blue. Another song, “Your Body” featuring Burna Boy, sampled the late Papa Wemba’s song Show me the Way.
He also sampled Q-Chillah’s Nikilala to create his own tune called “I miss You” while Die featuring Khaligraph Jones borrowed from Wycleff Jean's 2009 hit “Sweetest Girl” (Dollar Bill) ft. Akon, Lil Wayne and Niia.

In a new twist, the Mama Hit-maker pointed out that the album is back and getting uploaded afresh on a number of streaming platforms namely; Spotify, Audio Mack, Apple Music and Boomplay Music.

He added that, “Usichokijua kutoka kwenye @afroeast2020 nikwamba..!!! Kuna ngoma 18/ alafu zote..!! Zina video so ukipiga mahesabu nikisema niwe na toa kila mwezi 1 inamana zitaisha mwezi wa 10/2021. Ukisema kila baada ya week 2 inatoka moja..!!! Maana yake zitaisha mwakani mwezi wa (2) siwezi fanya huo ujinga kitakachofanyika ni kwamba kila mkifika watazamaji million tuu...!!! In 2019, Harmonize was at loggerheads with Kenyan producer Magix Enga over allegations he sampled Dundaing without consent.
Harmonize’s song ‘Uno’ was pulled down and later put back after Enga said he had forgiven him.
Harmonize later took to Instagram to write, “Challenges will never kill you. It’s just making you stronger. Take it from me. Thanks to my Management Konde gang and everyone who supports me. My people, I’m happy to tell you that our number one song is back again louder on Youtube.”
