Bobi Wine's driver was shot dead yesterday

The driver of Ugandan musician, actor and politician Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu also known as Bobi Wine was shot dead yesterday in Arua.

According to reports, Yasin Kawuma was shot dead near Hotel Pacific in Arua Town last evening.

Local media report that Bobi Wine, with several other opposition MPs had pitched camp in Arua to campaign for former Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) member of parliament Kasiano Wadri, now standing as an independent candidate for the Arua municipality seat that fell vacant following the gruesome murder of former MP, Ibrahim Abiriga.

The family of the Kyadondo East Member of Parliament is still in panic after Bobi Wine’s wife revealed on Facebook that she has lost touch with her husband since the incident occurred.

“Friends and Family; it’s a dark night tonight. As you all know, our driver has been shot dead in Arua. It’s a very sad day today,” the post reads in part.

“I have no idea where my husband and a team of about seven of his people are at the moment, we have lost touch. All their phones are not reachable and we are all watching out the window to see or hear the next news coming in,” she added.

Bobi Wine, whose whereabouts still remain unclear insinuated on twitter that the bullets that killed his driver were meant for him.

“Police has shot my driver dead thinking they've shot at me. My hotel is now cordoned off by police and SFC,’’ the tweet read.
