Residents of Keroka town in Nyamira have raised an alarm over a spate of insecurity that has rocked the town in the last couple of weeks, leaving scores injured and others dead.
This is happening as residents struggle to come to terms with last weekend's daring attack on the home of two senior county officials, where the gang sexually assaulted female members.
The attack comes barely a month after a 32-year-old woman was gang-raped before being killed and her body dumped in a well at Kegwanda Village in Rigoma Ward.
Residents claim cases of mugging have been on the rise and have challenged security agencies to act.
Thursday, members of the clergy joined calls for speedy investigations into the incidences reported in the area and described them as unfortunate.
Brought to book
Two Catholic Church Bishops, Joseph Mairura (Kisii Diocese) and Henry Juma (Kitale Diocese) urged police to ensure the culprits involved in the attacks are brought to book.
"We have faith in law enforcing agencies, and what we can ask of them is to do speedy investigations so that the families can have peace of mind and ultimate confidence in our law enforcing agencies," Bishop Mairura said.
