After Camp Mulla of the Party Don’t Stop fame took a break, groups of young ambitious musicians have inundated Kenya’s musical space with hits after hits.
Joining the galaxy of young and promising professional music bands is Multi-Media University (MMU) based Black Illusion, whose lead singer Miss Peris has seen the four-member band embark on its first national tour beginning in Lodwar this month under Mseto East Africa.
Miss Peris, a third-year student of journalism at MMU describes herself as a simple lady in love with music. “I began singing in primary school during drama and music festivals and talent shows,” said the 21-year-old whose role models are Ed Sheeran, James Author and Phy of the Taboo and Ruka hits.
Her band members are also students of journalism at MMU. Lili Vince, is 20 years old, he’s an RnB vocalist who began singing in his father’s church. Young Louie is a rapper, he’s a second-year while Martin Augustine is a pop and RnB music style artist.
Black Illusion has already released two songs - 411 featuring Lil Vince and How We Do Black Illusion. They have six songs in the pipeline. You can find them @black_illusion_Kenya on Instagram and @illusion_ke on twitter.
