Kisii University Vice-Chancellor has asked students not to rush to America to seek jobs once they graduate. Prof John Akama who was speaking to students at the Kisii Campus said: “You don’t have to go to work in America or any other country after your studies because Kenya needs you.”
Akama also cautioned students against handouts from unscrupulous politicians. Akama’s sentiments come at a time when most politicians are targeting university and college students to vote in their favour during party nominations.
“These politicians are obsessed with winning and will do anything to get to power. If they give you money, spend it but do not vote in bad leaders,” said Akama. The don was speaking during the commemoration of Kisii University’s 4th anniversary since it was chartered as a fully fledged university in February 2013.
