A REPRIEVE FOR MASENO UNIVERSITY STUDENTS.

Maseno university students have a reason to smile after the senate waved away a fine of 2,000 as a condition to be readmitted back to school.

This is after the varsity was closed indefinitely on November 1 following the death of a comrade under unclear circumstances.

According to the information posted on the school website, students will be required to clear all outstanding fees, sign a commitment form of good conduct and sign a nominal roll at the Office of Registrar, Academic and student affairs.

However, the reopening of the higher institution of learning has been engulfed by controversy after first and forth years reported on November 6 and 7 respectively leaving the other students in a limbo.

Following a senate meeting on November 10, second and third years will report on November 13.

As a result, the exams which were slated to begin on November 21 have been pushed to November 28 and will end on December 13.

Elsewhere, the student who was killed under mysterious circumstances was laid to rest in his parents Gatundu home,Kiambu County on Wednesday, November 9 in a somber mood.

His burial was attended by Maseno students, staff and SOMU officials.
