Social rest involves nurturing relationships and connections. It means spending time with people who uplift you and support your well-being.

Engaging in meaningful conversations, spending quality time with family and friends, and participating in social activities can provide the social rest you need to feel recharged.

How to do it right

Listen to your body by paying attention to signs of fatigue, stress and burnout. If you are feeling overwhelmed, it is time to prioritise rest.

Establish boundaries between work, personal time and rest. Avoid the temptation to bring work into your leisure hours.

This includes bringing work home.

Unplug by dedicating specific times of the day to disconnect from digital devices. Limiting screen time can significantly contribute to mental and emotional rest.

Prioritise sleep by establishing a consistent sleep schedule, creating a calming bedtime routine and ensuring your sleep environment is comfortable.

Plan restful activities by scheduling regular breaks throughout the day. This may include taking a power nap in the afternoons, going for short walks or even stretching.
