CJ Martha Koome leads tributes for Makadara Magistrate Monica Kivuti

Chief Justice Martha Koome has led judicial officers across the country in mourning the Makadara Law Courts Chief Magistrate Monica Kivuti.

Kivuti died at Nairobi Hospital while undergoing treatment following a shooting incident involving a police officer while on duty.

"Today, we gathered to mourn and celebrate the life of Hon. Monica Kivuti, Principal Magistrate at the Makadara Law Courts who died in the line of duty. Kivuti was a dedicated Judicial Officer who served the bench with boundless dedication, utmost humility, courage, and commitment for nearly eleven years," said Koome.

Koome described Kivuti as a dedicated judicial officer who served with humility and courage throughout her more than ten-year tenure.

The Magistrate will be laid to rest in Yatta Constituency, Machakos County. She leaves behind her husband and three daughters.
