Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has promised to tackle all the concerns raised by mechanics from Kariokor.

Gachagua while meeting a section of the mechanics at his Karen residential home said President William Ruto and the Kenya Kwanza administration remain at the forefront in improving the working environment for every sector to thrive because every hustle matters.

The mechanics had sought an audience with Gachagua during an interview on one of the vernacular stations.

Among their concerns were evictions, an undignified working environment and increasing insecurity around the Kariokor area.

According to the mechanics, runaway insecurity had left them vulnerable to broad daylight attacks from criminals who disguised themselves as mechanics and artisans.

While asking for a police post to be established around the area, the mechanics said insecurity had kept customers away as they feared for their safety hence affecting their businesses.

Gachagua said Ruto’s regime prioritises listening and engagement for understanding and informed practical solutions to challenges of the People, especially those at the lowest segment of the socio-economic pyramid.
