Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the world. Every year it claims more than 650,000 lives.

Breast cancer affects more women in high-income countries like the US and the UK. But people in low- and middle-income countries, are most vulnerable. This is mainly because people in these countries seek medical help at a late stage when the disease is advanced. At this advanced stage, it is harder to treat and people are more likely to die.
