Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Division One side GFE 105 FC are confident to have a good run in the league that kicks-off later this month.

This is after the Eldoret based outfit received a Sh3 million financial boost from gaming firm Betika, apart from bolstering its unit with 15 new signings.

In addition, the inaugural BingwaFest champions have also received brand new kits from the bookmaker, and they include home, away and a third uniforms, quality playing balls among others.

"We recognize the transformative power of sports in enhancing lives and fostering community connections, and we are proud to contribute to the development of football in Kenya.

“Having joined the campaign midway through last season, we are pleased with the team's performance and remain optimistic that, with this additional support, they will be well-equipped to strengthen their competitiveness and pursue promotion," Eric Mwiti, Senior Brand Manager at Betika, said at the kit presentation ceremony.

While hailing the firm's commitment to supporting grassroots football in Kenya, GFE 105 Chairman Shem Mburu said: " Securing consistent and substantial sponsorship for grassroots football teams in Kenya presents a considerable challenge.

"Many talented players and teams struggle to reach their full potential due to financial constraints and limited resources. With the new kits and increased financial support, we are confident that we can build on last season's performance and work towards reclaiming our place in the National Super League. At this level of our football, few clubs have the privilege of enjoying such sponsorship.”

Last season, GFE 105 received a Sh1 million boost from the bookmaker that propelled them to third place in the standings, narrowly missing to gain promotion into the National Super League (NSL).

The rejuvenated former Safaricom Sakata Ball national champions now aim to mount an even more successful campaign in the league this season to regain its position in the second tier of football in Kenya.

The team becomes the third side to be supported by the gaming firm who are also the official sponsors of FKF Premier League sides AFC Leopards SC and the Kenya Police FC.
