Stage set for second edition of MMA Fight Nights in Nairobi

It is all systems go ahead of East Africa’s Premier Amateur MMA League, KO Fight Nights, set for Sunday at Alchemist, Nairobi.

The second bi-monthly event sanctioned by the Kenya Oriental Combat Sports Federation and organised by ANZA MMA marks a bold new era for regional combat sports, offering a professional launchpad for the rising talent.

Rwanda’s submission specialist Lorenzo Caldarelli and Nairobi Jiu Jitsu Academy’s Hassan Wasswa Muhammed, who delivered a show-stopping TKO at the last event, are among the top fighters expected to light up the competition.

According to MMA Commissioner Brian Munyi, KO Fight Nights is a movement.

“This is a huge step forward for MMA in the region, supporting fighters from the grassroots up and setting a new competitive standard,” said Munyi.

“KO Fight Nights is more than a series; it’s a movement. With support from Kenyan Originals, the league also celebrates the launch of the region’s first professional MMA team at Nairobi Jiu Jitsu Academy, blending athletic excellence with community and culture.”

Alex Chappatte, founder and CEO of Kenyan Originals, is looking forward to an exciting event this weekend.
