In an era where light pollution increasingly obscures the night sky, a hotel in Samburu is taking advantage of the clear skies in the region with an Astro-tourism package.
Here, amidst the rugged beauty of northern Kenya's wilderness, a novel tourism experience invites visitors to reconnect with the universe.
In partnership with Leo Sky Africa, Samburu Sopa Lodge has introduced Astro tourism, an initiative designed to showcase the region's remarkably clear, unpolluted night skies and celebrate nature's forgotten wonders. This while honouring indigenous celestial knowledge.
The region's proximity to the equator provides a unique vantage point from which to observe constellations from both the northern and southern hemispheres, making it an exceptional stargazing destination.
