Kenya is looking forward to hosting a successful African Police Taekwondo Championship slated for May 24-31 at Kasarani Indoor Arena.
The championship is expected to attract between 20 and 30 teams from African countries.
And to ensure everything runs smoothly, officials from the African Police Taekwondo Confederation (APTAC) are currently in Nairobi inspecting venues ahead of the continental showpiece.
The delegation led by APTAC president ENG Guillaume toured key facilities, including competition arenas, indoor training spaces, hotels, and supporting infrastructure in the capital.
Guillaume said the assessment focused on security, infrastructure, and readiness of facilities, noting that Kenya met the expected standards required for hosting.

“We are very satisfied. Security is at the top level in Kenya, and the infrastructure is excellent," said Guillaume.
He added that Kenya’s experience in hosting major events positions it as a strong destination for the championship, which is returning after many years.
“We believe Kenya can meet this challenge. We want something exceptional."
Kenya Police Taekwondo Federation (KPTF) president Jared Ojuok is confident the delegation will be pleased with Kenya's readiness to host the event.
“We have taken the guests around, and I am satisfied that what we have shown them will give us a clean bill of health," said Ojuok.
“This championship brings together police officers from across Africa to compete and build bonds of friendship.”
He added that the event had faced challenges in previous years, particularly financing and organisation, but support from the government and stakeholders has enabled its revival.
“It has been difficult over the years due to challenges of financing and organisation, but with government support, we have been able to assemble this great event again," said Ojuok.
