New vaccines to boost Kenya's poultry sector

Unga Farm Care (EA) Limited, in partnership with global animal nutrition and health solutions provider Kemin Biologics, has officially launched Coryvac and Mevac poultry range of vaccines aimed at enhancing chicken health and boosting productivity across the sector.
The event, held in Nairobi, brought together key stakeholders from the agricultural, veterinary, and agribusiness sectors.
Industry experts and poultry farmers who attended the event underscored the vaccines’ importance in improving livestock health and food security in Kenya.

Speaking at the event, Technical Advisor in Poultry at Unga Farm Care (EA) Daniel Muraria emphasized the company’s commitment to supporting farmers with innovative solutions that drive sustainable poultry production.
Kemin Biologics, renowned for its expertise in animal nutrition and health innovations, highlighted the vaccines’ effectiveness in combating common poultry diseases at an affordable price.
Dr Kevin Onsongo noted that the introduction of the new vaccines will transform poultry health management by reducing losses caused by preventable diseases, improving food safety, and strengthening Kenya’s poultry industry.
The new vaccines cover a wide range of critical poultry diseases through H5 Range, H9 Range, IB Range, and ND Range.
The firm noted that with MEVAC™ and MEFLUVAC™, farmers will now have access to high-quality, research-backed solutions that safeguard flocks, protect farmer investments, and ensure a steady supply of poultry products to meet Kenya’s growing nutrition demands.
