In a no-nonsense post, Spears categorically dismissed the reports, deeming them "trash." She asserted, "Just so we're clear most of the news is trash !!! They keep saying I'm turning to random people to do a new album ... I will never return to the music industry !!! When I write, I write for fun or I write for other people !!!"
Putting an end to speculations surrounding Charli XCX's involvement, the pop icon clarified that such assertions were baseless.
During the Instagram update, Spears not only denied any imminent musical comeback but also disclosed her role as a ghostwriter. She claimed to have penned more than 20 songs for various artists and groups over the past two years.
Referring to her October memoir, "The Woman In Me," Spears urged her audience to explore the book for insights into her behind-the-scenes contributions, expressing her satisfaction with operating behind the curtain.
"For those of you who have read my book, there's loads that you don't know about me ...I've written over 20 songs for other people the past two years !!! I'm a ghostwriter and I honestly enjoy it that way !!!" asserted the mother of two.
Addressing allegations surrounding the unauthorized release of her memoir, Spears rebuffed such claims, stating, "People are also saying MY BOOK WAS RELEASED WITHOUT MY APPROVAL ILLEGALLY and that's far from the truth ... have you read the news these days ??? I'm so LOVED and blessed !!!"
