Motorcyclist dies in Nakuru crash as angry crowd torches bus

A motorist was killed in Nakuru following a Sunday evening accident in Salga, Nakuru County.
The accident occurred when a bus heading in the direction of Eldoret collided with a motorcycle en route to Nakuru.
The incident attracted an irate crowd which torched the vehicle.
Confirm the incident Menengai Sub-County Police Commander Cecilia Kemboi stated that the accident claimed the life of a motorcycle rider.

"There was an accident between a motorcycle and a bus driver going in the opposite direction," she said.
She said the bus overtook other vehicles before hitting the rider who died on the spot.
The residents, she said, become rowdy setting the bus ablaze.
The passengers on board had alighted before the bus was set on fire. The passengers the officer said are safe and had boarded another vehicle.
She warned motorists to be cautious during this festive season to avoid accidents. Kemboi said the drivers should observe the speed limits and road lanes.
Salgaa Resident Willy Yegon regretted that the accident occurred due to reckless driving. He urged the residents to be vigilant and avoid taking matters into their own hands.
