Ugandan charged with trafficking 190 kilograms of narcotic drugs

A Ugandan citizen was on Wednesday charged in a Nakuru court with trafficking 190 kilograms of narcotic drugs with a street value of Sh 9.5 million, contrary to the law.

Ali Adena Misoga appeared before Senior Resident Magistrate Keyne Gweno Odhiambo and denied the charge against him.

Misoga is alleged to have committed the said offence together with others, who are not before the court, on August 26, 2025, at the Chemalal area, Turbo sub-county, Uasin Gishu County.

The court heard that the accused was seized by police officers while trying to make his way through Eldoret town from a neighboring country.

His lawyer pleaded with the court to grant him bond, arguing that his client would obey court rules and regulations and that he was ready to report to the nearest police station if needed.

Magistrate Odhiambo, in his ruling, directed that the accused person be released on a bond of Sh 3 million with one surety of a similar amount.

The state has lined up eight key witnesses, among them four police officers who are set to testify against the accused person during the proceedings.

The prosecution is also set to present in court the seized consignment of bhang as an exhibit during the trial.

The accused was arraigned in court after police officers from Baharini police station intercepted him at a roadblock at Chemalal area along the Eldoret-Webuye highway.
