A domestic dispute between two brothers ended tragically after one of them hacked the other to death with a jembe in the Ndabibi area of Naivasha.
The 24-year-old was confirmed dead on arrival at the area health centre as police mounted a search for the 27-year-old suspect, who went into hiding soon after the early morning incident.
Trouble started after the two brothers confronted each other over a flash disc that had some songs, with each claiming ownership before the fight broke out.
A neighbour, James Nguro, said that the row started the previous day, forcing the parents to intervene as each party claimed to own the flash desk.

“Things went overboard when the elder brother hit the young one on the head using a jembe, leading to his death before escaping,” he said.
Naivasha DCIO Isaac Kiama confirmed the incident, adding that a manhunt for the suspect had been launched and an inquest file opened.
“According to the parents, the two were quarrelling over a flash disc, and in the process the younger was attacked and killed using a jembe,” he said.
Meanwhile, a flower farm worker was hit and killed by a car along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway while on her way to work.
During the incident near Naivasha Boarding Primary School, the occupants of the personal car escaped with minor injuries.
The accident temporarily affected the flow of traffic as other workers protested over the rising number of fatal accidents involving them.
A witness, Abel Mwai, said that the middle-aged woman was reporting to duty around 6am when she closed the road without checking, leading to the accident.
“It was foggy, and the visibility was poor when the woman was hit, and she died on the spot, and we are asking KENHA to erect speed bumps around this section of the highway,” he said.
Police later collected the body and took it to the local mortuary while the personal car was towed to the area police station.
