Student shot dead, two injured during Gen Z protests in Molo

A Form Four student was shot dead on Wednesday, while three other people were injured following a Gen Z protest in Molo, in Nakuru County.

Dennis Njuguna was a student at Njenga Karume Secondary School, allegedly shot in the head while on his way home.

According to a source, a Form Two learner from Turi Secondary School was injured on his leg during the protest.

Standard has established that a seven-year-old girl was also shot by a suspected stray bullet.

The demonstration, which commenced in the morning hours, has seen three injured and one dead.

Police are yet to comment on the issue as irate residents stormed the Molo Sub-County Hospital where the three are nursing injuries

The source claimed that during the protest, a police officer sprayed bullets at the demonstrators to disperse them.

The emotional family at Molo Morgue regretted that the police killed an innocent boy who wasn't armed.

"The government killed one of us, and we are disappointed by this unnecessary act," the source said.

Our efforts to reach the County Commander, Michael Mwaura, for comment were in vain, as he directed us to the Sub-County Commander Molo who failed to respond to our call
