High Court dismisses bid to stop creation of a new sub-county in Baringo

The High Court in Kabarnet has dismissed a petition by Tiaty MP William Kamket seeking conservatory orders to stop the establishment of Suguta sub-County in Kapedo.

The MP sued the Interior Cabinet Secretary following a gazette notice dated March 17, 2022, announcing the creation of the sub-county. Kamket claimed that Kapedo ownership is disputed between Baringo and Turkana counties. He alleged that the review of Tiaty boundaries would affect polling stations.
