Governor Mutai fires six CECs, reassigns two others

Kericho Governor Dr Erick Mutai has sacked six County Executive Council members, and reassigned two others.
In a statement, Governor Mutai says the move was done accirding to the law, citing the provisions of Paragraph 23 of the Terms of Service of the County Executive and Section 40(1) of the County Government Act No. 17 of 2012.
The affected include Kipruto Malel, Rosemary Rop, Edna Tonui, Leonard Ngetich, Bernard Bii and Brian Langat.
"I have given notice of termination of contract to the six County Executive Committee Members," said Governor Mutai.
To ensure continuity in service delivery, Governor Mutai has nominated six replacements and forwarded their names to the County Assembly for vetting and approval.

The nominees include Magerer Langat (Agriculture, Livestock, and Cooperatives) Dr. David Ngililgo Ekuwam (Health Services), Philemon Kurgat (Water, Environment, Energy, Forestry, and Natural Resources), Jonathan Kipkemoi Korir (Public Service Management), Emily Kirui (Trade, Industrialization, Tourism) and Joseph Kipsang Korir (Lands, Housing, and Physical Planning).
Beatrice Kaptich and Brenda Bii have been reassigned to Information, Communication, E-Government, Youth Affairs, and Sports and Department of Roads, Public Works and Transport respectively.
