Ndabibi residents vow to thwart protesters' plan to invade Ruto's farm

Residents of Ndabibi, Naivasha have vowed to block protesters from raiding expansive land linked to President William Ruto.

The residents took to the streets saying that they would not allow protestors to invade the land as this would affect their business and lead to clashes.

Over the weekend, Gen-Z protesters had vowed to invade former ADC land that is now owned by President Ruto.

The youths planned to mobilise their peers from different parts of the country to invade the over 5,000 acres currently under maize production.

Silas Kariuki, said that ongoing demonstrations had left traders in parts of the country counting losses running into millions of shillings.

Kariuki lashed out at a section of local leaders for sponsoring the youths to hold demonstrations terming it illegal.

"We understand that there is a plan to hold a demonstration in the area over the ownership of the vast land and we shall not allow this," he said.

Rose Njeri said that a similar demonstration early in the year saw tens of youths arrested and arraigned in court.

"Some of the leaders supporting this demonstration have forgotten their duties and this town is now chocking with garbage as they continue to politic," she said.

Jane Wambui, a trader, said that they were aware of the planned invasion of the President's land and they would not be party to it.

"Those planning demonstrations are outsiders who want to cause chaos in this area and we shall not allow this to happen," she said.

Early in the year, Naivasha MP Jane Kihara publicly confessed that the President had acquired the former ADC land and posted tens of GSU officers.
