Isiolo Governor Abdi Guyo on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, survived an impeachment attempt after the Senate threw out the case filed by the County Assembly, citing procedural flaws.
The Senate upheld preliminary objections raised by Governor Guyo's legal team, which argued that the impeachment process had not been properly conducted by the county assembly.
They also argued that a court order was in place halting the proceedings.
In a decisive vote, 31 elected senators voted in favour of the objections, effectively terminating the impeachment bid.
12 senators voted against the motion, seeking to proceed with the case.
