Salasya forced out of Nyayo Stadium during Kenya-Gabon match

Mumias East Member of Parliament Peter Salasy narrowly escaped on Sunday after rowdy spectators attacked and forcefully ushered him out of Nyayo National Stadium.
Salasya had barely settled in the pitch when the crowd attempted to rough him up as some threw objects toward him.
In a video now viral,some members of the public tried to grab him while another threw a plastic container at him.
A voice from the crowd could be heard shouting at him “Respect the president and Raila”.

The security officers swiftly intervened and escorted him out of the stadium to his car.
Salasya was among Kenyans who had gone to watch the crucial World Cup qualifier match between Harambee stars and Gabon.
The lawmaker is one of the leaders who has been on record for telling off the opposition chief Raila Odinga about his political moves.
Salasya who despite being from the Azimio la Umoja coalition had shown rebellion when he first refused to vote for the impeachment of former deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
Lately, he became more rebellious following his removal from the Agriculture Committee to the Members Services House team.
In an interview, the legislature referred to Odinga as “a selfish man”.
He had also confronted the president on the same podium about his administration and leadership.
President William Ruto was also present at the Stadium amid the tension.
Taking to social media moments after the incident Salasya simply posted on his X "Noted".
