Police hunt for man who killed son over food

Police in Migori County are searching for a 63-year-old man who allegedly killed his son over food in South Sakwa, Awendo Sub-County .
The man allegedly refused to have his 28-year-old son served food sparking an argument.
Awendo Sub-County Police Commander Julius Kemboi said that the man allegedly grabbed a hoe and struck his son dead on Tuesday.
"His son had gone to his father's house to ask for food. The man refused to give him any food," Mr Kemboi said.

He said that investigations are underway and it is only a matter of time before they arrest the suspect.
According to police report, the victim died on the spot.
The body was removed to Rapcom mortuary.
The man has since gone into hiding.
The Awendo police boss asked the public to volunteer information that would lead to the man's arrest.
He urged the public not to take the law into their hands.
"When found, the suspect should not be harmed but be handed over to police," Kemboi said.
Recently, residents of Buruburu Manyani Estate in Nakuru East woke up to a shocking incident where a father reportedly poisoned his son before he died by suicide.
The body of Dennis Nthenge, 28, was found dangling in the bathroom while his four-year-old son, Neville Michael, was found lifeless on their bed.
Gladwel Wambui, 26, wife to the late Nthenge, said that they had personal differences last week, which saw her leave their home alongside her son.
"We have been having differences at home, and when he threatened, I decided to walk out. My son and I have been living at my mother's place since Friday," said Wambui.
