President William Ruto will begin a three-day development tour of Kisii and Nyamira counties on Monday, August 12.
The tour marks his first visit to the region in eight months coming days after he tours Mt Kenya region.
Among the projects to be launched is a Sh3.4 billion ultra-cancer centre near Kisii School, aimed at improving healthcare services in the area.
Nyaribari Chache MP Zaheer Jhanda praised the President's commitment to the region, noting the recent Cabinet appointment of Julius Migos to the Education docket.
"I urge all leaders from the region to rally behind the Head of State and the residents to desist being mobilised against supporting his agendas," said Jhanda on Sunday during a meeting with over 10,000 women in his constituency.
