A somber mood has engulfed Nyatwere village, in Rachuonyo South sub-couny, Homa Bay, after three family members were electrocuted.
The deceased are Laventer Otieno aged about 20 and her brothers-in-law, Elijah Otieno,31, and Isaiah Otieno,35.
The incident occurred while Laventer was removing clothes from a metallic cloth line which was connected to the iron sheets of her house that appeared to have live current due to an electric fault in the house on Saturday evening.

She first removed a few dry clothes from the cloth line but when she touched one that was still wet, she was electrocuted.
Her mother-in-law raised the alarm attracting the attention of Laventer's brothers-in-law who came to her rescue.
Elijah and Isaiah were also electrocuted when they held Laventer's hands.
Kachien North Location chief Jacob Adienge said preliminary investigations revealed that the electricity was connected to Laventer's house by a quack.
Adienge warned residents against engaging unqualified electricians. "I urge our people to avoid dealing with unqualified electricians when connecting electricity to their homes," he said.
The bodies were removed to Rachuonyo South Sub County Hospital mortuary in Oyugis town.
