East African Portland Cement Company (EAPCC) has appointed Janerose Karanja as its head of Human Resources. Ms Karanja joins the company from the parent Ministry of Industry, Trade and Co-operatives as the cement firm embarks on organisational changes for its turnaround strategy.
Karanja is a human resource expert with more than 25 years' working experience, 12 in various State agencies including the departments for Industry and Energy. She holds an MBA (Human Resource Management) from Kenyatta University, a Human Resource Certificate from the Institute of Human Resource Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Nairobi.
Simon Peter ole Nkeri, EAPCC's managing director, said the board of directors had continued to identify and appoint a competent leadership and management team to accelerate the transformation process.
“We intend to move fast to further refine our execution plan, build the right company culture, delight our customers, empower communities and institute the necessary operational governance and performance management systems,” he said as he welcomed Karanja to EAPCC.
