Two passengers have been killed after an ENA Coach bus travelling from Nairobi to Migori was involved in a fatal accident in the Mai Mahiu area late Saturday night.
Naivasha OCPD Antony Keter told The Standard that the crash occurred at around 11 p.m. when the bus was reportedly hit from behind by a trailer whose brakes failed.
Witnesses say the collision happened on the steep climb section of Mai Mahiu, a notorious accident hotspot, as the vehicles navigated the incline.
In a statement sent to newsrooms, ENA Coach's Chief Executive Officer Richard Mogire confirmed that the bus was carrying 47 passengers and 3 crew members headed to Kehancha.
"It is with profound sorrow that we report the loss of two passengers, a female adult and a minor," the statement read in part.
