The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection has disbursed Sh3.4 billion for the August payments under the Inua Jamii programme.
Labour Principal Secretary Joseph Motari said in a statement on Thursday, 5 September, that the funds would support 1,703,401 beneficiaries, up from 1,681,623 in July.
“Payment will commence on Friday, 6 September, to beneficiaries across the country,” said Motari.
He added, “The Inua Jamii programme supports vulnerable groups, including older persons, orphans and those with severe disabilities, by providing a regular stipend.”
Motari said, “The government plans to implement this expansion in phases,” adding, “Payments will continue as scheduled on the 15th of each month.”
