Kenyan passports will be processed within seven days of application from August 1, 2024, Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki has said.
Additionally, starting September 1st, the passports will be processed within three days.
Kindiki expressed the sentiments in a statement on X saying the backlog in the processing of the passports had been resolved.
“The Government has facilitated the acquisition of adequate passport printing equipment, paid all the pending supplier bills, and addressed the supply chain constraints,” said Kindiki in the Monday, April 22, statement.
“The backlog of pending passports that stood at 724,000 by March 11, 2024 has been resolved, and the 50,000 applications that were pending on Thursday, last week have been produced and are ready for delivery,” he added.
