"We received the sad and shocking news about the tragic and horror crash that claimed the lives of gallant members of the Kenya Defence Forces, including the CGS General Francis O. Ogola.
We, the family of Kenya's Second President late Mzee Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi, join the nation and the KDF fraternity in mourning the loss of General Ogolla and his officers.
At this time of sorrow, we pray to the Almighty God to grant solace to the grieving families as well as the peaceful rest of the souls of the departed patriots.
We pay tribute to General Ogolla, who brought into his office an exemplary level of patriotism and professionalism as well as personal discipline, integrity, and honour. Kenyans will always celebrate and cherish memories of his service and hands-on approach to all matters touching on the security of Kenyans and the sanctity of their lives and their motherland."
