39 magistrates promoted to facilitate case backlog clearance

The Judicial Service Commission has promoted 39 judicial officers, who will serve in various capacities including as Senior Principal Magistrates.
The promotions are aimed at facilitating clearance of case backlog within the Judiciary as well as improving the access to justice.
“The JSC is mandated to review the conditions of service of Judicial Officers under Article 172 of the Constitution. In the discharge of this function, the Commission in meetings held on March 14, approved the promotion of 39 Judicial Officers following successful interviews,” the Commission said.
Those promoted to the rank of Senior Principal Magistrate are:
