ODM activist Nuru Maloba Okanga has been charged with insulting President William Ruto through his YouTube account.
Okanga appeared before Milimani Chief Magistrate Lucas Onyina where he denied the charge.
According to the prosecution, the accused aged 32 printed abusive words on November 20, 2023. He allegedly committed the offense with others not before court.
The prosecution said the offensive words were directed at President Ruto. Okanga was arrested on November 29, 2023, by DCI officers and detained at Central Police Station.
Defending himself, Okanga told the court that he sat for the KCPE examination at Muslim Primary School in Mumias, Kakamega County and was waiting to join Form One next year.
