Ameet Shah, close on his heels with 83 gross, claimed the runners-up position after a hard-fought battle on the greens.
Among the women, Hellen Muma dominated with an 88 gross, leaving her competitors in her wake to clinch the ladies’ winner title.
Lilian Kongani followed closely, earning the ladies’ runners-up spot in a spirited display of talent and determination.
The junior category saw the rise of young talent, with Faraja Mulunda taking home the title. Mulunda’s poise and focus marked him as one to watch in the future.
Meanwhile, in the nearest-to-the-pin contests, the Lusi family shone. Dr. Ojwang Lusi clinched the men’s nearest-to-the-pin title, while Mrs. Ojwang Lusi secured the ladies’ nearest-to-the-pin accolade, showcasing their shared love for the game.
Tournament director Vitalis Asewe praised the level of competition and the diverse representation across the categories.
“This tournament is not just about the game; it’s about community, culture, and fostering the spirit of sportsmanship. We are thrilled with the turnout and the exceptional talent on display,” said Asewe.
He also noted that the Audrey Golf Resort is set to transform the golfing and hospitality experience in Siaya.
“This facility will put Siaya County on the golfing map. We welcome everyone to visit and experience what we have to offer—a harmonious blend of tradition and modernity,” he added.
The Audrey Golf Resort, located in a serene countryside setting, is more than just a golf course. It is a unique private members’ club designed to provide an escape from the hustle of modern life while immersing visitors in a rustic Luo cultural and traditional lifestyle.
The club features world-class infrastructure, including a mini Olympic-size swimming pool, a Luo-styled garden bar, a restaurant, lush gazebos, and African grass-roofed cottages tailored for discerning business travelers.
Asewe conceptualized the Audrey Golf Resort with a vision to celebrate Luo cultural heritage, particularly through traditional foods and healthy living.
His idea stemmed from the need to rejuvenate and preserve the Luo feeding culture, which has faced challenges from modern lifestyle shifts.
“The Audrey Golf Resort is not just a retreat; it is a revival of our cultural identity and a platform to share it with the world,” said Asewe.
The Audrey Golf Resort Pre-Launch Tournament was a testament to this vision, combining the love of golf with a celebration of tradition, food, and community.
With its blend of pleasure and business, the facility is set to become a premier countryside destination in Siaya County, promising an enriching experience for all who visit.
