Railway course to host Adventist charity meet

The nine-hole Kenya Railway Golf Course in Nairobi will on Friday host a charity golf tournament in aid of Kendu Mission Hospital.
According to the draw, a field of over 168 golfers led by Adventist Golfers are the main sponsors and have already secured 81 slots.
The network of golfers is a group of social golf enthusiasts who are members of the Seventh Day Adventist Church whose sole aim is to network through the gentleman's game while spreading the gospel and conducting community service.
According to the facility's Chief executive officer, Dr Philip Gai, the level-four Kendu Mission Hospital in Gendia, is a low-income zone where most of those seeking medication cannot afford to pay for the services.
To this end, the golfers are fundraising to assist patients settle their bills, and acquire National Hospital Insurance Cards for those who cannot afford them.

Thirdly, part of the proceeds from the charity event will also pay fees for needy but deserving students pursuing different courses at the teaching and referral section of the hospital.
"Kindly come and participate by playing or donating towards this worthy cause as we seek to better our society," said Dr Gai.
"The challenging course is in pristine condition at the moment, the green-keeping section has done a marvellous job to ensure that all those who turn up will have a memorable experience." Onassis Ndegwa, Captain, KRGC.
Leading Adventist golfers like Mwanzo Moseti, Wycliffe Osoro, Chris Imbaya and George Ochira will be battling the tough playing course as they gun for the array of prizes on offer courtesy of the sponsors.
At the par-72 Limuru Golf and Country Club, Hannah Gatu will be hosting her Lady Captain prize on November 17 and 18 as over 248 golfers including 12 juniors have booked themselves for the two-day tournament.
Presented by Britam, Kengen and Galana Energies, Haco Industries, Jos Hansen, Eland & Space, and Melvins Tea.
Golfers are expected to brace for the biting cold and rainy weather in the regions as they square it out for the array of prizes on offer.
