Benson Omalla scored a brace as record Kenyan champions Gor Mahia thrashed Murang’a SEAL 3-1 in a FKF Premier League match staged at SportsPesa Arena on Saturday.
The win saw Gor Mahia move 12 points clear at the top of the Premier League table with six matches left until the end of the 2023-2024 season.
K’Ogalo now need three wins to secure a record 21st Premier League title.
In-form midfielder Austin Odhiambo gave the defending champions a 1-0 lead in the 14th minute before veteran John Kiplangat returned to haunt his former side to ensure the match heads to the break tied 1-1.
But it is Benson Omalla who was the happiest man as he finally ended his goal drought in style, hitting a brace to take his season tally to 14.
