KCB Football Clun on Wednesday played out to a barren draw against Mombasa-based side Bandari FC at the Kasarani Annex in a midweek FKF Premier League encounter.

The visitors created numerous chances in the first half of the match but could not get past goalkeeper Byrne Omondi who proved too strong for the Bandari strikers.

The bankers on the other hand were sloppy, losing easy duels and giving the ball too easily but were lucky not to be punished. They, however, improved in the second half after the introduction of Harrison Mwendwa and Nicholas Kipkurui.

"We are grateful for a point coming from two losses in a row. Even though we wanted a win, we accept the point, and we must build on it as we approach the end of the current season.

"You can see that fatigue has started kicking in. Our players were not slick in their runs and in possession of the ball. We will fight for a good finish to a season that has been grueling," said Godfrey Oduor, KCB FC Assistant Coach.

KCB maintains its 4th position on the log garnering 50 points after 28 matches played.

Gor Mahia extended its lead at the summit to 4 points, Tusker settled for a draw with Nairobi City Stars.

"The confidence was low after we exited the FKF Cup, but I believe we will fight to finish top three this season. I urge all our fans to rally behind the team because we are entering a very crucial stage of the season," said Kevin Okumu.

The team will resume action on Sunday against Posta Rangers with the match venue set to be announced prior to the game.
