Grace Ramtu: The story behind Kenya's Miss World winner

Last weekend, Grace Ramtu was crowned Miss World Kenya. She emerged victorious after a hotly contested journey that saw 400 models enter the competition.
The charismatic Ramtu is a professional model and fashion designer with more than five years of experience in the industry. She has her own fashion company called Ramtu Fashion Designs. She holds a diploma in fashion and design.
Grace Ramtu is passionate about mentoring young girls in Kenya and empowering young girls who have experienced sexual abuse. She has been campaigning on her social media platforms to support and motivate victims of sexual abuse.
She also competed for the title of Miss World Kenya last year and finished in the top 5 finalists.

What it takes to make it
The criteria used by the Miss World Kenya beauty pageant:
Age: You should be between 18 and 26 years old.
Looks: Looks are one of the most important stepping stones in the modelling industry. To be a perfect contestant for Miss World Kenya, you must have near-perfect teeth and flawless skin.
Physical requirements: You must have no traditional marks, scars or tattoos. You will need to be taller than 5'7" and have some very specific body measurements. These include waist size (28 inches), hip size (36 inches) and bust size (32 inches).
Citizenship: To be eligible to compete for the Miss World Kenya title, you must be a Kenyan citizen with a valid passport or identification card.
Marital status: You must not have had a child or be legally married.
Conduct: You are expected to demonstrate a high level of discipline, work ethic and moral standards, and to behave in a ladylike manner.
Availability: Being Miss World Kenya is an honourable and prestigious role that requires a lot of responsibility and time commitment. You must be ready and active at all times.
