Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have officially filed for divorce, ending months of speculation about their relationship.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Lopez filed for divorce on Tuesday, August 20, coinciding with their second wedding anniversary.

The filing was done without a lawyer, and the date of their separation was specified as April 26, 2024.

This marks Jennifer Lopez's fourth divorce and Ben Affleck's second.

Daily Mail reports that the couple did not have a prenuptial agreement in place when they married in July 2022.

In the absence of such an agreement, any income generated by either party in the past two years, including earnings from major brand deals or film projects, would be considered communal property.

The court documents also revealed that Jennifer Lopez has requested the judge deny spousal support for both parties.

Sources indicate that the couple's divorce filing comes amid ongoing financial disputes and heated settlement negotiations that have persisted for several months. There have been periods when the couple reportedly cut off all communication.

In May, Jennifer and Ben listed their $68 million marital home in Beverly Hills for sale, just a year after purchasing it for $60 million.

The property was publicly listed in June after attempts to sell it off-market failed. Ben Affleck has since purchased a new $20.5 million bachelor pad in Pacific Palisades, while Jennifer continues to search for a new home in Los Angeles.

The couple has not been seen together in public since June 2, fueling further rumours about their separation.

Jennifer was recently spotted leaving Ben's rented home in Brentwood, which costs $100,000 a month, as she celebrated his 52nd birthday with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, and their children.

Notably, Ben did not attend Jennifer's lavish 55th birthday party in The Hamptons, which was themed after the show "Bridgerton."

The couple first met on the set of the film Gigli in December 2001 and rekindled their relationship after nearly two decades apart.
